Giorgia "The voice" Todrani is back to surprise his fans once again. She has started this summer 1999 with the image of the sunflower ("Girasole" BMG 1999), of its lively colors: she expresses a renewed positive energy and will to communicate with new sounds.
"Girasole" is comprised of 13 songs (1 intro, 11 are inedited + 1999 version of "il cielo in una stanza" by Gino Paoli). This album gives an immediate feeling of serenity as for the booklet which shows Giorgia's colored and funny pictures, as for the songs, which are mainly light music elaborated with class and innovation. This album shows how Giorgia's getting more and more aware of her artistic identity which leads her to express what she really is: she wrote all the lyrics and music (some in collaboration with Adriano Pennino, who worked on the album programming and arrangement) and she produced the album too. Pennino played on the album too (keyboards) together with Vittoria Riva(drums), Maurizio Fiordaliso (guitars), Roberto D'Aquino, Pippo Martino (electric bass) and Rino Zurzolo (double bass), the "Solis string quartet", Mike Applebaume, Eric Daniel and Mario Corvini (wind instruments) and Guido M. Marcelletti's choirs.
The album has been recorded in Italy and mixed in London.
