Enrico Ruggeri
Domani e' un altro giorno
Marksman
review by Vitaliano Della Penna
Traslation by Carla Guido
We call him "marksman" for his artistic abilities, although he is a good soccer-player in the "Nazionale Cantanti" team.
Only 25 years ago he used to wear white plastic glasses: he sang "Contessa" during Sanremo Festival show and he looked a new wave rock singer. In few years Enrico Ruggeri became successful through his records and the songs he writes for himself and for other well-known artists, which public and critics seem to appreciate.
And now Enrico Ruggeri is successful once again thanks to his new album "Domani è un altro giorno" (PDU, 1997).
Enrico's got a different look: shaven head and earring. But his sound and music are the same: melody and rock. His album contains very different songs: some are slow and melodic, sometimes romantic and melancholic, while some songs are rock (Italian soft rock, of course). Ruggeri's lyrics are evocative, they involve us, they often speaks about love. His voice makes us feel close to the realities he describes in his songs. The album contains a duet as well: Ruggeri sings "Gente di cuore" together with Marco Masini.
Ruggeri wrote all the lyrics; Palermo and Luigi Schiavone, who is also Ruggeri's inseparable guitar-player and artistic co-producer of the Cd, collaborated with him. The album contains 11 songs, which can be a very pleasant background in our everydaylife.
