Sig. Dapatas
Intelligence and courage
review by Vitaliano Della Penna
Traslation by Carla Guido

The Italian record market usually demands a period in which the artist has to follow a sort of standard in order to satisfy people requests and music tastes and of course in order to sell. Song-writers in particular have to wait a long time before expressing themselves in original and true songs. But Daniele Silvestri, since his first songs, has proposed himself in a very direct way, expressing his personality in his rather original and innovative songs as for form and content.
"Sig. Dapatas" (BMG Ricordi, 1999) represents an adventurous journey among different places which are both real and unreal, among human existence problems, among classical and experimental sounds, in a mix of different kinds of music: reggae, South American music, pop and rock of different ages. Sounds are absolutely original: they are the right context for Daniele Silvestri's lyrics.
He wrote indeed all lyrics and music, in collaboration with M.Filardo and Enzo Miceli; he played electric and acustic guitars, bass, keyboards, piano, accordion; moreover he worked on the programming and of course he sang with his personality and style.
Other musicians who collaborated on the album are:Piero Monterisi and Simone Prattico (drums), Maurizio Filardo and Andrea Moscianese (guitars), his friend Max Gazzè and Emanuele Brignola (bass), Giorgio Palombino (percussions), Lara Martelli (voice), Los Cerebrolesos (choir), Enzo Miceli (guitar and choir).
Enzo Miceli produced the cd.
The album was recorded in Italy while the mastering was accomplished in London.
